Nippon Paint Sri Lanka Successfully concluded the Asia Young Designer Award (AYDA) themed "You for Tomorrow" for the second consecutive year in collaboration with SLIA. It was a great opportunity to be a part of the AYDA family by winning the Gold medal in the Interior Design division in 2017. The award ceremony was held at the Hilton hotel and a cash prize was awarded together with the opportunity to participate in the practical training session in Malaysia soon after. The learning experience in Malaysia paved a new path for me in terms of design thinking by meeting many reputed foreign Architects and students from other Asian countries who presented their creative concepts and proposals. During the study tour, we visited many iconic architectural destinations around Malaysia and I got the chance to present my work at an international platform. The feedback from renowned Architects and their constructive thoughts were especially very helpful and inspiring. It was a great pleasure to represent my country and my university. I must Congratulate my fellow students Yathindra and Romain who won several Nippon Prizes in several subdivisions. I conclude by inviting all the students to participate in "AYDA” in future because it is a great platform for young designers to explore, expand and expose themselves to International Architecture. "SELF BELIEF AND HARDWORK WILL ALWAYS EARN YOU SUCCESS".
